Applying Liquid Foundation

As its name indicates, foundation is the base for any great makeup look. Foundation helps the tone of your skin appear consistant and hides the flaws on your skin. Here are some tips on how top apply liquid foundation.

1- Take your time in selecting the color since it is the reason behind the obvious foundation lines. Pick a store where you can try the color before you buy and have your close girl-frinds give you an honest opinion on how the foundation color looks on you. Note that you should check the color inside the store and out in the sunlight because the color changes with lighting conditions.

2- When applying foundation, make sure that your skin is moisturised properly so that that the foundation spreads evenly and the color remains consistent.

3- The best way to apply liquid foundation is to place some on your finger tips and then on your cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. Then, using a damp cosmetic sponge, spread each dot out until all the areas of your face are properly covered.

4- When you are satisfied with the outcome, use your brush to blend the lines where the foundations ends with surronding of your face untill all the lines fade away.

5- Check your face under sunlight to makesure it looks good under different lighting conditions.

Protect Your Lips

Everybody knows how important it is to protect the skin from exposure to the sun for extended periods of time. However, our lips are much more at risk to develop skin cancer from the rest of the body. The skin on the lips is very thin and delicate making them very vulnerable when exposed to the sun.

Whether your out on the beach or skiing slopes, read the following tips to learn how to protect your lips:

1- Lip-gloss can intensify the effect of the sun on your lips. Some scientist claim that is like putting a magnifying glass between your lips and the sun. Therefore, if you are going to wear lip-gloss to the beach, choose one that includes high SPF.

2- If your favourite lip-gloss does not have SPF in it, you must find a base-layer lip balm that has it to make sure your lips are protected. The agreed-upon recommendation is to wear a lip-balm that has at least level 30 SPF in it. Its not for protection only, lip balms keep the lips moisturized also.

3- Replace lip gloss with lipstick when possible. Lipstick has more color that lip-glosses and will reflect the sun rays away.

Perfectly Polished Nails

If you are looking for healthier nails or a stunning pedicure or manicure, you can get there by following these must-know tips:

1- Clean and buff your nails regularly because it improves blood circulation and encourages growth. Note that you should not go overboard because you could weaken the nail

2- You can place a drop or two of nail polish remover into your nail polish bottle to make use of a couple of extra applications. Mix them well before you apply them.

3- Instead of shaking the bottle to even out the color of your nail polish, roll the bottle in the palm of your hand. This will prevent air bubbles from gathering inside the bottle.

4- When filling your nail, stick to one direction. Going back and forth will cause the nail to break over time.

5- Massage Vaseline over your over your nails and into you cuticles at once per week. You can go for twice a week for better results. Vaseline helps nourish the nails and encourages growth.

6- Always start by applying a base coat followed by 2 coats of color and finally a top coat. You need the base coat to protect your nails from yellowing. It also helps the polish to last longer. The two coats of color are needed for even smooth coverage and the top coat makes your nails shine.

7- Always lets you nails dry before putting on any shoes for the first hours after the application. The polish might feel dry, but wearing shoes in the first hour can cause marks and scars on your nails.

Foundation Tip

When picking a foundation, you should always keep in mind the natural look. The color of the foundation and the tone of your skin should always blend perfectly. To tell if the foundation is right for you, apply a little bit around the jawbone. If the color is right, you should not be able to tell that there’s any foundation applied. Keep trying until you get the right color. For best results, check your foundation in natural light (sunlight). Keep in mind that you skin-tone changes when you are exposed to the sun and so in summer time, what works today might not work tomorrow.

Make sure your skin is properly moisturized before you apply a foundation. A dry skin will absorb the foundation quickly, so do apply a moisturizer before application. If you have oily skin, only use foundation that are oil free. Also, only use a foundation with ultraviolet light protection (sun screen, SPF) to protect your skin from damage.

For an extra shine, you can blend shimmer powder with you foundation and apply it on the areas you want to stand out like around your eyes or you lips.
